This is the report that was written but not published for the April edition of Miscellany and was done before Covid-19 out break curtailing all events. We will look again at the planning in June when hopefully the situation is clearer.
This is my first report for Miscellany, and I do so as treasurer, the position I might add was not heavily contested at the AGM. My only qualification for the position is that I once was treasurer for my childrens’ school PTA, my children are now in their mid forties! I have big shoes to fill as my predecessor, Paul Wheatley was a Building Society Manager. I would personally like to thank Paul for making the handover easy and seamless, and for his 22 years as treasurer even though he sold his Morgan 20 years ago.
Our last Noggin was to discuss forthcoming events, it being half term quite a few members were on holiday, including myself and I thank Christine Harris for taking notes for me. No one ventured out in their Morgans as the weather was not good. We are trying to organise some weekday events, for members who are not able to make weekend events, and we are aiming to do two events each month. Our first event was to be the Bicester scramble, with brunch on the 26th April (now postponed to June). There will be automotive displays, food stalls, workshops and showrooms and for the first time an Autojumble Classic Trader Village. Tickets sell out quickly, and will be available on www.bicesterheritage.co.uk/. At present only four cars have shown an interest in the Severn Valley Railway workshop visit on 20th May , if anyone else is interested please contact Brian Harris through the website.
The WhatsApp group is working really well, and I urge everyone to sign up, to get updates and information on ad hoc events. Please contact Simon, (centre Secretary through the normal channels) to get added to the WarwickMog Morgan WhatsApp group. This is proving to be a good social network to keep our spirits up during the social distancing and self isolation.
