Scenic drive to Cotswold Farmshop & Cafe and a visit to Batsford Arboretum

Starting at the Warwickshire Golf Club, 8 Morgans and 2 tintops wound our way through country lanes with varying quality of tarmac and widths of road. The only thing hampering our progress was a ‘Man-in-Lycra’ riding down the centre of the narrow country lanes. The rain pretty much held off for the whole journey and it was just unfortunate that Roger and Glynnis had a problem with their car and had to make a detour home: let’s hope that they make it next time.

Bernard and Joanne at the Cotswold Foodstore & Cafe (https://www.cotswoldfoodstore.com/) did us all proud with great food and an endless stream of hot coffee and tea.  Taking the full English with eggs, scrambled or fried, was the popular choice.  We will definitely be going back and thanks to Geoff for his suggestion on this visit.  It was Shirley’s birthday, so we all sang Happy Birthday led by Liz.

It was then back to our cars and off to Batsford Arboretum (http://www.batsarb.co.uk/).  Where the sun came up after we had all put up our roofs – some cars being easier than others. A number of people then went around the arboretum viewing the tree blossoms before a cup of tea and cake in the garden centre.

A great day out and it was wonderful to see so many centre members enjoying Drive-it day.
